The story
At Gaa, the focus is on creating a one-of-a-kind dining experience that showcases the modern relevance and complexity of Indian cooking. The current offering is The Gaa Signature Tasting Menu – described as a never-ending explosion of flavours, textures and ingredients, all inspired by the limitless cuisines of India. On weekends, the lounge hosts The Weekend Afternoon Tea, a collection of little bites that combine traditional Indian flavours with a naughty modern twist, evoking the heart of Indian Chai time.
Guests may choose from a thoughtfully curated homemade non-alcoholic beverage pairing, wine pairing, or champagne pairing to accompany their meal. A vegetarian menu is available, and vegan and gluten-free options can be accommodated with advance notice.
Gaa occupies a transformed 60-year-old traditional Thai house. The upper-level Baan Ruen Thai Dining Room features curved ceilings highlighted by a white string installation – a modern interpretation of ‘Sai Sin’ that symbolizes the spiritual connection between diners gathered underneath. The lower-level Garden Room offers an intimate setting, with each table enveloped in elegant metallic curtains that create a private cocoon bathed in golden hues. The Gaa Lounge, where weekend afternoon tea is served, provides a serene, casual yet refined daytime escape.
Restaurant Gaa is helmed by Chef Garima Arora. Since opening in 2017, the restaurant has garnered international acclaim. It earned its first MICHELIN star in 2018, and in 2024 was awarded a second star, making Chef Garima Arora the first and only Indian female chef to achieve this prestigious honour. The on-site wine cellar houses over 2,000 bottles of more than 300 thoughtfully selected labels from around the world.
