The story
On the third floor of Gaysorn Village, Ginza Sushi Ichi brings the precision of Tokyo’s Ginza district to Bangkok. The restaurant is an outpost of a respected Japanese house, serving classic Edomae sushi in a setting that prioritises the craft over the ornate.
The experience is built around the counter. Guests watch as each piece of sushi is prepared with the quiet focus that defines the best Japanese dining. The menu, available for both lunch and dinner, follows the omakase tradition — the chef selects the day’s offerings based on the freshest ingredients.
Ginza Sushi Ichi’s commitment to quality has earned it a place in the Michelin guide for Bangkok, where it is listed as a Recommended restaurant. This recognition reflects the consistency of its technique and the quality of its fish, sourced and handled with the care expected of a top-tier sushi-ya.
The restaurant is open for lunch from 11:30 to 14:30 (last order at 13:30) and dinner from 17:30 to 22:00 (last order at 20:00). It is closed on Mondays. Children over the age of six are welcome. The space is air-conditioned, with counter seating that puts the kitchen on display. For those who prefer, there is also outdoor seating and private party options. Valet parking is available.
For a direct, unfussy encounter with Japanese cuisine in Bangkok, Ginza Sushi Ichi delivers the real thing.
