The story
Jikasei began in Barcelona as a members-only omakase speakeasy. After a series of successful collaborations and pop-up events around the world, the brand found its permanent home in Bangkok. In 2024, chef Tiago Cardoso opened Jikasei B, an intimate sushi-ya on Sukhumvit Soi 43, earning a Michelin Recommended award in its first year.
Chef Tiago Cardoso combines years of expertise and training in top sushi restaurants from Europe to Japan. His meticulous craftsmanship and direct relationships with Japan’s top fishmongers allow him to source outstanding ingredients. The philosophy is produce-driven: respect tradition, elevate carefully sourced ingredients through technique and a precise understanding of the product and the seasons, seen through the eyes of Edomae sushi.
Jikasei B offers two distinct omakase experiences. The Sushidokoro menu is dedicated to timeless Edomae preparations: 3–4 classical tsumami (seasonal starters) followed by 8 courses of nigiri sushi, then miso soup, a sushi roll, tamago, and dessert. It is for purists who want authentic, classic sushi flavours.
The Jikasei B menu showcases chef Tiago’s personal style and influences. It includes 5–6 signature tsumami with the finest seasonal ingredients, progressing through 10–12 courses of nigiri sushi, followed by the same classic finish. This is the ultimate sushi experience at Jikasei B.
Both menus change daily based on seasonal availability and market selection. The counter-dining setting means every course is prepared at the optimal moment, with the full experience lasting 1.5 to 2 hours.
The space is intimate, with counter dining that puts you close to the chef’s work. Reservations are required; the restaurant operates by reservation only to ensure the highest quality for each guest. Smart casual attire is requested. Jikasei B does not accommodate major dietary restrictions, focusing entirely on delivering the best possible omakase through its carefully sourced Japanese seafood and ingredients.
This is a restaurant built on the quiet confidence of technique and tradition, where the Michelin recommendation confirms what regulars already know: Bangkok now has a sushi-ya that transports you to an authentic Edomae experience.
