The story
In the quiet Ploenchit area of Bangkok, Lenzi Tuscan Kitchen offers a direct line to the cuisine of Tuscany. The restaurant is family-run, and the Lenzi name traces back to Pisa. Executive Chef Francesco Lenzi brings the traditions of his homeland to the table, focusing on ingredient sourcing and old-school preparation methods.
The space is dominated by an open kitchen, where guests can watch the chefs at work. The atmosphere is described as unpretentious and welcoming, like eating at a friend’s house. Everything is cooked to order, with an emphasis on genuine Italian cooking and healthy food. Extra virgin olive oil is used in every dish.
Lenzi’s connection to Tuscany runs deep. The family’s farm in Ghivizzano, near Lucca, has been in operation since 1945. There, free-range pigs are raised on a seasonal diet that includes sweet chestnuts, and the tradition of the “Norcineria” – a butcher shop specializing in pork hams – continues. This commitment to quality ingredients is central to the kitchen, with many products imported directly from Italy and the family’s own production.
The menu offers a wide selection of typical Tuscan dishes, alongside other traditional Italian foods, with more than 60 options available. The restaurant has earned a place in the Michelin Guide for its consistent quality. Whether for lunch or dinner, Lenzi Tuscan Kitchen delivers a specific, regional taste of Italy in Bangkok.
