The story
Overlooking the Chao Phraya River from a historic mansion, Praya Dining offers a refined encounter with Thai culinary heritage. The restaurant, recognised by the Michelin guide, presents a menu that traces the evolution of Thai cuisine from the ancient Sukhothai Kingdom through the vibrant Rattanakosin period. It is a celebration of the past and present, focused on the sophisticated preparations and exquisite presentations of Thai royal cuisine.
The kitchen is led by Executive Chef Rattana Pholtaisong, known as Chef Na. Her passion for Thai food began in childhood, and she has spent over 37 years refining her craft. Guided by respected Thai culinary mentors, Chef Na’s cooking reflects a quiet confidence and a deep respect for tradition. Her work at Praya Dining is the expression of a lifelong pursuit, bringing authentic Thai flavours and techniques to the table.
Diners can explore a range of offerings that highlight the richness of Thai cuisine. The Lunch Set Menu presents a choice between Samrab Wang Praya and Samrab Thai Ruamsamai, starting at THB 990++ per person. For a lighter interlude, the Praya Palazzo Afternoon Tea offers elegant treats with views of the river, available at a special price of THB 1,589 net for two. In the evening, the Romantic Exclusive Dinner provides a five-course signature set menu with a handcrafted drink and a bespoke romantic set-up by the water for THB 4,990 net per couple.
The setting itself is integral to the experience. The restaurant is housed within Praya Palazzo, a riverside mansion that lends an air of historic grace to every meal. A riverfront bar serves craft cocktails and small bites, perfect for relaxing by the pool as the Chao Phraya flows by. Whether you are seated in the main dining room or the Rom Pho room overlooking the water, the atmosphere is one of understated elegance, rooted in the culture of Siam.
