The story
On Klang Mueang Road in Khon Kaen, a small street food stall draws a steady queue of locals and visitors alike. The name says it all: grilled pork neck is the star, and it has earned the restaurant a Michelin Bib Gourmand for its good quality, good value cooking.
The menu is short and focused. Grilled pork neck comes in two cuts – one with a little fat, one leaner – served with a sweet and tangy dipping sauce and fresh vegetables. The meat is cooked to order, arriving fragrant and slightly charred. Regulars also order the sweet pork liver (ตับหวาน), which is tender and perfectly blanched, and the spicy pork rib soup (ต้มแซ่บซี่โครงหมู), a bold, sour broth that clears the sinuses. Larb moo and nam tok moo round out the offerings, all priced under 100 baht per dish.
The atmosphere is pure street food: a few tables set up in the evening, with the smell of grilled pork drifting into the night. Service is quick and friendly, and the stall is open for dinner until the food runs out, typically late. Parking is limited along the roadside, so many call ahead to order takeaway.
This is honest, direct Isaan cooking – no frills, just fire, spice, and good ingredients. The Michelin recognition confirms what the daily queue already knows: this is one of the best grilled pork neck spots in Khon Kaen.
