The story
Curiously housed in a former residential villa built in the 1960s, Arkestra is a restaurant and bar where food, music, and ambience come together to accompany moments of conviviality. Located in Etiler, Beşiktaş, this Istanbul destination earned a Michelin star in 2024, a recognition that underscores the precision and soul behind every plate.
At the heart of Arkestra sits the Restaurant – a grand dining room with a lively atmosphere and an air of relaxed opulence. Chef Cenk Debensason heads the open kitchen, creating soulful dishes based on seasonality. His cooking mixes modern European techniques with global influences, resulting in a fusion cuisine that feels both thoughtful and vibrant. The scene is carefully crafted to complement the plates of deliciousness, from the wood wall paneling featuring artful details to the focal Art Deco chandeliers. When the weather calls for al fresco dining, the restaurant opens up to a secluded courtyard.
Arkestra is home to three distinct spaces. Beyond the main restaurant, Ritmo is a dimly-lit, playful bistro tucked away behind velvet curtains, offering small plates, local and international wines, and curated cocktails from Chef Debensason’s sophisticated yet vibrant menu. Upstairs, the Listening Room is an audiophile bar serving craft cocktails in an intimate setting, with a wall of vinyl records confirming you are here for the music. It hosts weekly events where selectors pick records from Arkestra’s collection or bring their own. Reservations are required for all spaces.
