The story
Perched on the 18th floor of The Marmara Pera in Beyoğlu, Mikla offers a commanding view of Istanbul’s skyline and the Bosphorus. The restaurant serves modern Mediterranean cuisine, a territory it has navigated with precision and creativity, earning a Michelin star in 2026 for high quality cooking.
The setting is refined, with a “smart chic” dress code that signals the restaurant’s considered approach without veering into stuffiness. Guests arrive in the evening — Mikla opens at 18:00, with last food orders at 21:30 — and can linger at the bar, which stays open until 02:00. The restaurant is closed on Sundays and does not serve lunch.
The mark of a Michelin-starred kitchen is consistency, and Mikla delivers it nightly. The menu changes with the seasons, drawing on the breadth of Mediterranean and Anatolian ingredients. While the kitchen does not publish a fixed list of signature dishes, the precision of the cooking and the clarity of flavour are evident in every course.
Mikla is open Monday to Saturday, from 18:00 to 24:00, with the bar extending the evening until 02:00. Reservations require a credit card to secure the booking, with a per-person charge of 35 Euro applied only in the case of a no-show. For parties larger than eight, the restaurant prefers to be contacted directly by phone or email.
