The story
Il Borro Tuscan Bistro Dubai brings the spirit of the Ferragamo family's Il Borro estate in Tuscany to Jumeirah Al Naseem, overlooking the turtle lagoon. The estate dates back over a thousand years, and its philosophy is rooted in tradition, respect for the environment, and eco-sustainable choices. "I want to share our Tuscan traditions and way of life with the world," says the family.
The menu offers a modern interpretation of Tuscan classics, with an emphasis on quality ingredients. Where possible, produce comes directly from the family's organic farm, Orto del Borro, certified organic since 2015. The kitchen uses Il Borro's own extra-virgin olive oil, hand-picked from the estate's 40 olive groves, intensely green and aromatic with floral and herbal notes. Honey and seasonal vegetables also come from the farm. A signature creation is the artisanal gelato made with first-press olive oil from the estate, served with a cantuccio as Tuscan tradition commands. The restaurant also offers a dedicated vegan menu. The wine list is carefully curated, featuring Il Borro's organic wines – including Sangiovese, Syrah, and Merlot blends – alongside other Tuscan varieties. In 2018, the restaurant received the Wine Spectator Award of Excellence.
The dining room is refined and welcoming, with an outdoor terrace that catches the breeze. A private dining room opens onto this terrace, suitable for sit-down lunches, dinners, boardroom meetings, or stand-up events, offering a tailored culinary experience for special occasions. The bar serves signature cocktails and aged barrel selections, perfect for complementing the Tuscan plates.
The restaurant has been recognised by the Michelin Guide and was voted Dubai's favourite Italian restaurant by What's On for five consecutive years.
