The story
At KOA Canvas in Wadi Al Safa 3, LOWE is a homegrown Dubai restaurant built around one elemental thing: fire. The open kitchen is centred on a charcoal grill, a rotisserie, and a wood-fired oven, and from that hearth comes a contemporary and experimental dining experience that has earned a Michelin Recommended mention.
The name itself refers to ‘a warm light produced by fire,’ and that idea runs through every dish. The menu is seasonal, produce-driven, and cooked naturally over flame. It is rustic and approachable, combining traditional techniques with unexpected flavours. The atmosphere is relaxed, with a sense of humour and a touch of nostalgia—a welcome departure from formal fine dining.
LOWE is part of the Nasab creative community, and the space reflects that: a welcoming, laid-back setting where the food takes centre stage. There are regular events, including LOWE Masterclasses and the Stay Homegrown series that invites guest chefs for limited-run menus. Recent dinners have featured chefs like Yana Tarabeine, whose Syrian heritage and Dubai street-food influences shaped a highly personal multi-course menu.
The regular menu offers two seasonal options. The Summer Set Menu (available Friday through Sunday) is a smart, accessible entry point: two courses for AED 130 or three for AED 150. There is also the LOWEgevity Menu, a thoughtfully crafted longevity-focused selection free from dairy (except goat milk and ghee), sugar, and seed oils, with gluten-free options—proving that mindful eating can still be indulgent.
Whether you come for the fire-cooked meats, the inventive vegetable dishes, or the weekend set menu, LOWE delivers a distinctly Dubai take on contemporary cooking—earthy, direct, and full of character.
