The story
Small farms, big flavours, brave stories. That is the ethos behind Kynd, a British contemporary restaurant set in the old furnace house of the walled garden at Hampton Manor in Hampton in Arden. Here, produce is cooked simply over coals, letting the quality of the ingredients speak for themselves.
Chef David Taylor, who also holds a Michelin star at Grace & Savour on the same estate, leads the kitchen. At Kynd, the focus shifts from an immersive tasting menu to a more casual yet considered offering. Dishes showcase ingredients in their purest form, embracing a low-waste, farm-to-table philosophy. The sample menus change regularly depending on the best available produce each day.
In warmer months, guests can dine alfresco or inside the Victorian greenhouses, surrounded by home-grown produce. The wine list celebrates sustainable farming, with low-intervention wines, cocktails garnished from the garden, and the UK’s first carbon-negative beer on tap.
Kynd’s recognition in the Michelin Guide as a Recommended restaurant reflects its commitment to sourcing and simplicity. The 45-acre estate is powered by 100% renewable energy, and the team champions those working to leave the planet better than they found it. It is a place where the story of the land and the plate come together, without fuss.
