The story
Since 1979, Fogo de Chão has kept the flames of the churrasco tradition burning. The restaurant's founders grew up on a farm in the Serra Gaucha region of southern Brazil, learning the craft of fire-roasting meats. That heritage is the backbone of every meal served at the Albuquerque location.
The culinary art of churrasco is on full display here. Gaucho chefs carve an endless parade of fire-roasted meats tableside, from the signature Picanha (prime top sirloin) to Fraldinha (bottom sirloin), lamb, and pork. The full churrasco experience is complemented by a fresh and vibrant Market Table and authentic Brazilian sides.
Bar Fogo offers a lively counterpoint, with Brazilian-inspired small plates and a cocktail program that includes the classic Caipirinha. The restaurant also features a private-label wine collection honoring the founders, with bottles like the Jorjão Reserva Malbec, which pairs especially well with the Picanha.
This dedication to the complete dining experience earned Fogo de Chão Albuquerque a Wine Spectator Award of Excellence in 2022, a recognition of its thoughtfully curated wine list.
Whether you are coming for lunch, dinner, or a private event, the atmosphere is warm and energetic, rooted in the rich heritage of the Brazilian steakhouse tradition.
