The story
Soprana Rooftop Cucina sits atop the Embassy Suites, offering 240-degree views of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The restaurant calls itself a “warm, everyday escape” with a “come as you are” spirit—equally suited for a weeknight dinner or a special evening out.
The menu blends Alpine and Appalachian influences, centering on brick-oven pizza and seasonal fare. A majority of ingredients come from local farms and purveyors, including Hickory Nut Gap Farm, Chop Shop Butchery, and Spicewalla. Charcuterie and sausages are made in-house from animals raised by the Warren Wilson College Agriculture program.
Executive Chef Jon Jerman brings over twenty years of experience from luxury boutique hotels across the country. His style is rooted in craftsmanship and quality ingredients, creating an elevated yet approachable experience. Director of Food & Beverage Brian Sherwood and General Manager Sean Moline round out the leadership, ensuring the same care extends from the kitchen to the rooftop bar.
Soprana is a Michelin-recommended restaurant, recognized in the Michelin Guide for the American South. The restaurant has also earned local accolades such as “Best Outdoor Dining” and “Best Rooftop Bar,” reflecting its commitment to both food and atmosphere.
The bar program features craft cocktails, local beer, and wine, all designed to complement the Italian cuisine and the setting. Whether stopping in for a drink or a full meal, the rooftop provides a relaxed backdrop for taking in Asheville’s mountain skyline.
