The story
On Atlanta’s Westside, in what was once an unassuming building, Giovanni Di Palma built a pizzeria from scraps and stones. What he created inside transformed the neighborhood. The lines formed within weeks and have never really stopped. Today, Antico Pizza Napoletana is a name synonymous with pizza greatness.
The restaurant is part of Little Italia, a vibrant hub of classic Italian eateries that Di Palma modeled after the historic town centers of Italy. Antico Pizza Napoletana, along with Gio’s Chicken Italiano & Maccheroni, Caffè Antico and Bar Amalfi, recreates the energy of an Italian street scene in the heart of Atlanta.
The pizza here is Neapolitan in style, and the star is the Antico Original Pizza. The restaurant’s commitment to its craft has not gone unnoticed. In 2023 and again in 2024, Antico Pizza Napoletana earned a Michelin Bib Gourmand, an award celebrating good quality, good value cooking. This recognition places it among the elite in the culinary world while staying true to its roots as a neighborhood pizzeria.
