The story
Banshee opened in East Atlanta Village with a clear aim: upscale food and drink in a relaxed, casual setting. Partners Peter Chvala, Nolan Wynn, Katie McDonald, and Faielle Bolzan Stocco built a place that feels both approachable and ambitious. Within its first year, Executive Chef Nolan Wynn was named “Best New Chef 2018” by Atlanta Magazine and became a James Beard semifinalist for “Rising Star Chef of the Year.” The restaurant has since been consistently listed among Atlanta’s top restaurants by Atlanta Magazine and was named one of the top 50 restaurants in the US by Wine Enthusiast in 2022. In 2023, Banshee earned a Bib Gourmand in Atlanta’s inaugural Michelin Guide, and it continues to hold a Michelin Recommended distinction.
The kitchen focuses on New American fare driven by seasonality. The menu changes to reflect what’s fresh, and the bar is equally considered—cocktail-driven with a small, curated selection of local beers and an eclectic wine list. The atmosphere stays relaxed, but the cooking and service carry a precision that matches the restaurant’s accolades.
Banshee is a restaurant + bar that stays open late, especially on Friday and Saturday when the space transitions into music after hours. The interior is comfortable and unpretentious, with a warmth that encourages lingering. It’s the kind of place where you can have a serious dinner or simply enjoy a well-made drink at the bar.
