A Bistro That Crosses the Mediterranean

Café Lily has long been a fixture on the Decatur dining scene, a neighborhood bistro that draws its inspiration from the entire Mediterranean basin. The menu travels from Italy and France to Greece, Spain, North Africa, and the Middle East – an eclectic mix that reflects the restaurant’s belief in the shared culinary traditions of the region.

A Recognition of Excellence

The restaurant’s carefully curated wine list earned it the 2024 Wine Spectator Award of Excellence, a nod to the depth and quality of its selections. The award complements the warm, welcoming atmosphere that regulars have come to love.

The Team Behind the Table

Café Lily is a family affair. Co-founder and executive chef Anthony Pitillo leads the kitchen alongside owner and executive sous chef Sowmya Burugu. Katie McLellan and the late Angelo Pitillo round out the founding team. Bar director Selena Breland and floor managers Katie McLellan and Ana Salvagno keep the front of house running smoothly.

Spaces for Every Occasion

The restaurant offers two private dining rooms. The intimate Lily Room seats up to eight, while the Peacock Room – decorated in Moroccan style – accommodates up to 40 for seated dinners or 50 for cocktail parties. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, the restaurant hosts Mahjong, a nod to the community spirit that defines the place.

What to Expect

Lunch, dinner, and Sunday brunch menus change with the seasons and daily specials. The kitchen draws on the full palette of Mediterranean cuisines, from pasta and wood‑fired dishes to tagines and grilled seafood. Desserts and a full drink menu round out the experience.

Café Lily is open Tuesday through Sunday, with lunch through Friday and brunch on Sunday. Reservations are welcome.
