The story
Chef Amy began cooking at 15, selling street-style noodles from a kiosk in Malaysia. Together with Howie, she came to the United States. After building brands like Top Spice and Sweet Hut, the duo turned their focus back to the food that started it all. Food Terminal on Buford Highway is the result: a celebration of Malaysia’s diverse culinary landscape.
Malaysian cuisine draws from Indian, Guang Zhou, Hokkien, Teochew, and Hakka traditions—a legacy of early 20th-century migration for tin and railroad labor. Food Terminal’s menu reflects that diversity, offering a high variety of Asian street foods with a heavy emphasis on Malaysian cuisine. The team’s mission is to bring the most authentic street-food taste and experience to Atlanta.
The Garlic Bone Marrow is a rich, creamy white broth made from roasted bone marrow, served with signature thin noodles, five-spice pork belly, wood ear, and a soft-boiled egg. Ipoh Chicken Ho Fun, a noodle soup from the Malaysian town of Ipoh, pairs silky rice noodles with shredded chicken, shrimp, and fish cakes in a fragrant broth. Hainanese Chicken—poached bone-in chicken with fragrant rice and signature soy sauce—is a dish so beloved it was named one of the world’s 50 most delicious foods by CNN Go. Other favorites include the spice-laced Kari Chicken Noodle Soup, Grandma Wonton BBQ Pork, and the Cheese ‘N’ Cheese fried rice served on a hot cast-iron plate.
Food Terminal’s dedication to bold, honest cooking earned it a spot in the Michelin Guide Atlanta, where it received the “Recommended” distinction in 2026—a nod to its unwavering commitment to flavor and tradition.
