The story
Lucky Star arrives in Atlanta’s Star Metals District with a clear purpose: to celebrate the vibrant, innovative flavors of Taiwanese cuisine. Led by Chef Jason Liang, along with ChingYao Wang, Kirk Gibson, and Nik Soukavong, the team spent years refining their vision before opening. The result is a space where tradition meets modern sophistication—serving Taiwanese food, precision cocktails, and coffee and pastries from a sister restaurant, Michelin-starred Brush Sushi.
The kitchen draws on Taiwan’s rich culinary traditions—bold, savory, and comforting dishes built on fresh ingredients, unique spices, and a balance of textures. Think street food favorites like scallion pancakes and braised pork rice, alongside more refined creations. The menu changes, but the focus remains on craftsmanship and flavor.
Behind the bar, the team uses precision lab equipment to craft cocktails with a scientific approach—technique-driven drinks that highlight creativity and bold flavors. Coffee comes from a custom blend created with local roasters, and pastries are made in-house with the same attention to detail that earned Brush Sushi its Michelin star.
Lucky Star is located on the ground level of the Star Metals Building, facing Howell Mill Road. The atmosphere is lively yet refined—suitable for a long dinner, a relaxed coffee break, or a late-night cocktail. The restaurant earned a Michelin Recommended distinction in 2026, a nod to its commitment to quality and innovation in Taiwanese contemporary cuisine.
Whether you come for lunch, brunch, dinner, or just a drink, Lucky Star offers a genuine taste of Taiwanese food and drink culture in the heart of Atlanta.
