The story
Moëca is Cambridge’s neighborhood seafood restaurant, located just off Mass. Avenue and down the street from its sister restaurant, Giulia. The team brings a craft-focused mindset to the plate, drawing on global flavors—especially from the Mediterranean—to showcase what’s in season, now. Recognized by Michelin for its thoughtful execution, Moëca embodies a philosophy of cooking with daily availability, partnering with small boat fishermen around the world for fresh, responsibly sourced seafood.
The menu is built around flexibility and technique. You might find the same fish prepared four different ways, from raw fin fish and shellfish to house-smoked and cured options, plus larger whole fish preparations. Dishes change frequently—the menu updates daily by 4:30 PM—but always reflect a Mediterranean sensibility, whether in a crudo with green tomato tapenade or a whole branzino with green garlic pil pil. The kitchen also turns out share plates, pastas, and large plates that highlight seasonal produce and seafood alike.
The dining room offers counter seating and a relaxed atmosphere, ideal for an evening of exploration. A well-curated wine list and inventive cocktails complement the menu, from an Acadian Spritz to a Marine Martinez. Desserts like brown butter ginger ice cream or mango profiteroles round out the experience. Open Tuesday through Saturday for dinner, Moëca brings a modern, Mediterranean-inflected seafood approach to a neighborhood that already knows and loves craft cooking.
