The story
Fogo de Chão in Bridgewater brings the celebrated art of churrasco to New Jersey. Since 1979, this Brazilian steakhouse has been rooted in the traditions of Rio Grande do Sul, where the founders grew up on a family farm and learned the gaucho-style of cooking meat over an open flame. The Bridgewater location continues that legacy, offering a dining experience centered on fire-roasted meats.
The restaurant’s approach is straightforward: quality cuts are slow-roasted and carved tableside by gaucho chefs. Guests can choose from a range of signature meats, including Picanha (prime top sirloin) and Fraldinha (bottom sirloin), alongside a seasonal Market Table and authentic Brazilian sides. Bar Fogo complements the meal with South American-inspired cocktails and an award-winning wine list, which earned Fogo de Chão a Wine Spectator Award of Excellence in 2025.
