The story
At Daisies on Milwaukee Avenue in Chicago's Logan Square, the kitchen operates with a clear philosophy: "making as much from scratch as possible and sourcing the balance from ethically responsible purveyors." That commitment is evident in every plate that comes out of the kitchen led by Executive Chef and Proprietor Joe Frillman, alongside Executive Pastry Chef and Partner Leigh Omilinsky.
The restaurant's warm, unfussy approach has earned it a Michelin Bib Gourmand, a nod to good quality, good value cooking. And it's not just the food that reflects this ethos—a 25% service charge is applied to all dine-in checks to ensure equitable pay and benefits for the team.
Daisies offers a full range of service throughout the day. The café opens early, serving pastries and coffee before transitioning to lunch Monday through Saturday. Sunday brings a dedicated brunch from 10am to 2pm. Dinner runs Tuesday through Sunday, with extended hours on Friday and Saturday. Happy Hour rounds out the afternoons Tuesday through Saturday.
The menus—brunch, lunch, dinner, dessert, and drinks—change with the seasons, highlighting Italian and seasonal American influences. Whether you're stopping in for a quick lunch or settling in for a leisurely dinner, the focus remains on ingredients treated with care.
Daisies also caters events and offers private party options, making it a versatile spot in the neighborhood.
