The story
A5 Steakhouse opened in Denver in 2021 with a simple idea: to be a different, more playful kind of steakhouse—one that is welcoming to all. The result is a contemporary steakhouse that serves impeccable steaks and inventive sides, familiar but elevated with technique and creativity. The atmosphere is inviting, boisterous, and fun, with Hall & Oates on the playlist and a room alive with plants and bold wallpaper. At the center of it all is genuine hospitality and the joy of sharing an incredible meal.
This chef-driven approach has earned A5 a place on Michelin’s Recommended Restaurants list. The kitchen is led by Executive Chef Anthony Mills, who continues the vision of Chef Max Mackissock. The team obsesses over sourcing, technique, and traceability, drawing on centuries-old butchery techniques to serve cuts most steakhouses never touch. The menu celebrates peak freshness, seasonality, and thoughtfully sourced local ingredients.
The dinner menu showcases a raw bar with daily oysters and a seafood tower, alongside appetizers like Japanese Hamachi with citrus ponzu and a Beef Tartare Katsu Sando on toasted Japanese milk bread. Steaks include a Denver cut from Black Hawk Farms wagyu, a Bone-in NY Strip from Greater Omaha, and an Australian F4 wagyu Striploin. Sides range from Kennebec Fries with umami aioli to Bacon + Kimchi Fried Rice. The happy hour menu features a Wagyu Yakitori and the A5 Burger.
A5 Steakhouse is open seven nights a week, offering dinner, happy hour, and a full bar. It has been named Denver’s Best Steakhouse by Tasting Table and landed on 5280’s Best Restaurants list. Whether for a special occasion or a nightly dinner party, A5 offers a welcoming escape from the everyday.
