The story
Fogo de Chão began in the mountainous countryside of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, where the founding brothers grew up on a traditional farm learning the art of churrasco. After formal training as churrasqueiros, they opened their first restaurant in Porto Alegre. It quickly gained a reputation among politicians, businessmen, and celebrities, leading to a second location in São Paulo. At the request of loyal American guests, the concept crossed borders with a stateside debut in Dallas, Texas, and has since expanded across the U.S., including this location in Frisco.
At its core, Fogo de Chão is an authentic Brazilian steakhouse. The churrasco experience revolves around fire-roasted meats carved tableside by trained churrasqueiros. Guests enjoy a continuous rotation of signature cuts such as Picanha (prime top sirloin), Fraldinha (bottom sirloin), Costela (beef ribs), and Lamb Picanha, alongside options like Wagyu New York Strip and Dry-Aged Tomahawk. The freshly curated Market Table offers seasonal salads, vegetables, and imported cheeses, while Bar Fogo serves Brazilian-inspired small plates, cocktails, and an award-winning wine list.
For those seeking a complete meal, the Fogo Four Course combines fire-roasted cuts, Market Table, authentic sides, and a dessert for a set price.
The wine program at Fogo de Chão has earned a Wine Spectator Award of Excellence, reflecting a carefully selected list that complements the robust flavors of churrasco. The restaurant also offers its own Founders Tribute Wine Collection, featuring four wines from South America and California, each paired specifically with different cuts of meat. From the Jorjão Malbec with Picanha to the Sonhadores Cabernet Sauvignon with Filet Mignon, the pairings enhance the dining experience.
Whether for a special occasion or a regular evening out, Fogo de Chão in Frisco delivers a lively yet refined taste of Brazil.
