The story
Since 1979, Fogo de Chão has been dedicated to the culinary art of churrasco, the traditional Brazilian method of fire-roasting meats. At the Irvine location, located at 623 Spectrum Center Drive, this tradition is alive and well. The restaurant’s founders grew up on a farm in the Serra Gaucha region of Southern Brazil, where they first learned the techniques that would define their lives. After formal training in Rio and São Paulo, they opened their first restaurant in Porto Alegre. The concept was built on an obsessive dedication to quality and a deep respect for family heritage.
The Irvine outpost delivers that same experience. Gaucho chefs continuously circulate the dining room, carving fire-roasted cuts of beef, lamb, and pork directly at your table. The menu features signature Brazilian cuts like Picanha (prime part of the top sirloin) and Fraldinha (bottom sirloin), alongside an extensive Market Table and Bar Fogo with Brazilian-inspired cocktails. For a limited time, guests can enjoy the Fogo Four Course, a selection of the most popular fire-roasted cuts paired with seasonal market items, sides, and dessert.
Fogo de Chão’s commitment to quality extends to its wine program. The restaurant has earned a Wine Spectator Award of Excellence, and its own Founders Tribute Wine Collection features selections from Argentina, Chile, and California, each specifically paired with the churrasco experience. Whether you are a longtime fan of Brazilian steakhouse dining or a first-time visitor, Fogo de Chão in Irvine offers a vibrant and authentic taste of a culinary tradition that has traveled from the mountainous countryside of Brazil to the global stage.
