The story
In the heart of Miami, L'Atelier de Joël Robuchon brings the late chef’s visionary concept to life: a craftsman’s workshop where Modern French cuisine meets relaxed conviviality. The restaurant holds two Michelin Stars, making it the first and only restaurant in South Florida to earn that distinction.
The name “L’Atelier” refers to a craftsman’s workshop, and the philosophy here is one of elevation—taking the simplest ingredients and transforming them through pristine sourcing, immaculate technique, and abundant creativity. The menu, guided by Culinary Director Alain Verzeroli, features iconic signature dishes alongside ever-changing seasonal creations. Ingredients come from top local and regional purveyors, ensuring each plate reflects both the Robuchon legacy and the bounty of Florida.
Dining here is an interactive experience. The 34-seat counter wraps around an open kitchen, allowing guests to watch the chefs at work. Chef Robuchon drew inspiration from Japanese sushi counters and Spanish tapas service, blending those communal traditions with his own French cooking. The result is a fine dining atmosphere that feels warm and immediate rather than formal and distant.
The team carrying forward this legacy includes Corporate Executive Chef James Friedberg and Executive Pastry Chef Salvatore Martone, all protégés of Robuchon who introduce new ideas unique to the Miami location. Whether seated at the counter for a full tasting menu or enjoying a seasonal à la carte selection, the experience is anchored in precision and generosity.
