The story
Sanguich De Miami was born from a dream. In 2014, Miami locals and lifelong entrepreneurs Daniel Figueredo and Rosa Romero set out to elevate the classic Cuban sandwich. Their shared Cuban-American heritage and passion for authentic flavors drove them to transform traditional recipes into something modern, yet deeply rooted. They started at festivals, winning Calle Ocho’s Cubano Wars in 2017, then opened a shipping-container pop-up in Little Havana. The following year, their flagship brick-and-mortar location opened on Calle Ocho, cementing their place in Miami’s vibrant food scene.
In 2022, Sanguich earned its first Michelin Bib Gourmand during Florida’s inaugural ceremony—a testament to their commitment to good quality, good value cooking. They have since received the award three times, including a 2024 recognition that coincided with an invitation to the White House for Cuban Diaspora Day. The Bib Gourmand honors their ability to deliver exceptional Cuban cuisine without pretense, making every sandwich a celebration of craft and tradition.
The heart of the menu is the Cubano: city ham, lechon (slow-roasted pork), Swiss cheese, pickles, and mustard on crisp Cuban bread. The Croqueta Preparada adds two ham croquettes to that same winning combination. For something different, try the Pan con Lechon—shredded pork with pickled mojo onions and garlic cilantro aioli—or the Pan con Bistec, featuring thinly sliced sous vide steak, mojo rojo, fried string potatoes, and Swiss cheese. The Media Noche swaps Cuban bread for sweet bread, offering a softer, slightly sweeter sandwich. To drink, order a Timba, the official batido of Sanguich: a guava and cream cheese shake that blends sweet and savory in a deeply Cuban way. A colada (Cuban espresso for four) finishes the meal right.
Sanguich’s mission is to preserve Cuban culture through food and hospitality. They craft their own bread—free from potassium bromate and other additives—and source traceable prime pork. Every detail, from the house-made lechon to the custom sandwich press, reflects a dedication to quality. As their tagline says, “Taste La Tradición.” It’s a reminder that a sandwich can carry history, memory, and the warmth of a shared meal.
