The story
Ernesto’s brings the flavors of Spain to 259 East Broadway in New York City. The restaurant has earned a Michelin Recommended distinction for its focused, ingredient-driven cooking.
The dinner menu changes daily, reflecting the season’s best produce and seafood. A sample from a recent season includes para picar: gildas, croquetas de gallina, pintxo matrimonio, tosta de gambas, and Nuestra Tortilla. Entradas feature cinco jotas ibérico with housemade potato chips, callos De Joan (Madrid-style tripe), bikini Hemingway, crudo de vieiras, and grilled Portuguese sardines. Main courses range from arroz de cangrejo (bomba rice with soft shell crab) to grilled Galician turbot, secreto ibérico, and a Highland Hollow bone-in ribeye txuleta. Desserts include a Basque cheesecake and Ernesto’s flan. A café menu and pintxos bar are also available.
An interesting wine list, offered by the bottle, is curated to complement the Spanish-inspired dishes.
The restaurant accommodates private parties and events, with a private room available for larger gatherings.
