The story
On Myrtle Avenue in Brooklyn’s Fort Greene, Glin Thai Bistro serves Thai food that is both familiar and surprising. The kitchen draws on regional Thai techniques but isn’t afraid to play with ingredients and presentation. The result is a menu that feels contemporary yet deeply rooted.
The space itself is casual and welcoming, with a decorative video adding a touch of movement. The restaurant also offers outdoor seating, a full bar, and caters to everything from private parties to corporate events—a neighborhood spot that knows how to handle a crowd.
The menu is organized by tradition, but the dishes are anything but standard. Start with the Mangosteen Salad (Tum Mung Kud) — a bright, crunchy mix of mangosteen, mango, coconut flakes, cashews, and a chili-lime dressing. The Pomelo Salad (Yum Som O) is another refreshing opener, with peanuts and fried shallots.
For mains, the 24-hour cooked short rib appears twice: in Kee Mao Short Rib, where it’s tossed with ramen noodles, lemongrass, and Thai basil, and in Kra Pow Nuer, a wok-fried stir-fry with long hot chili peppers. The Pla Lui Suan features a whole de-boned branzino, fried and dressed with mango, cashews, and herbs. The Southern Thai squid ink fried rice (Khao Man Klon) is a standout — black rice topped with salted egg yolk, crab, and squid.
Vegan options are clearly marked, including a Three Mushroom stir-fry and a vegetable Panang curry with banana and pineapple.
The drink menu is as thoughtful as the food. Signature cocktails lean into Thai flavors: the Kradang-Nga Lon Fai uses Mekhong rum with pandan and smoked rosemary; the Prik Khing is a spicy vodka infusion with ginger and lime. The Edge of Berry, a milk-washed mezcal with strawberry and kaffir lime, shows the bar’s ambition.
Glin Thai Bistro earned a Michelin Recommended distinction in 2026, a recognition that speaks to the kitchen’s skill and the restaurant’s consistent execution. It’s the kind of place where you can order a round of tropical cocktails and share plates of fiery, aromatic Thai food — and leave already planning your next visit.
