The story
Kyma in New York City’s Flatiron district brings together the warmth of a traditional Greek taverna with the stylish, sun-drenched aesthetic of Mykonos. The restaurant describes its ambiance as modern yet woven with threads of both traditions. The menu guides you to the sun-drenched islands of Greece, embracing the rich character of its traditional dishes. The kitchen adheres to a strict code, using extra virgin olive oil from the Peloponnese and flying in fresh fish daily from the Mediterranean.
The menu emphasizes bright, clean Greek seafood. Start with a spread of traditional dips—tzatziki, spicy feta, skordalia, hummus, fava, melitzanosalata, taramasalata—or grilled octopus with roasted peppers and fava. The raw bar offers East and West Coast oysters, jumbo shrimp cocktail, and seafood towers. Main courses include simply grilled lavraki (branzino), lamb chops, and a prime NY strip. For brunch, there are Greek omelette, avocado toast, and chicken and waffles. Guests frequently return for the zucchini chips, lamb chops, and filo dough cake.
Kyma’s dedication to quality ingredients and warm hospitality has been recognized with a Michelin Recommended distinction for 2026.
