The story
Laser Wolf, part of the CookNSolo family, brings a convivial, shareable style of Middle Eastern cooking to Philadelphia. The menu centers on the grill — meats, fish, and vegetables cooked over fire — and each meal begins with a generous spread of salatim (salads and dips) served with fresh pita. This included assortment, featuring hummus, babaganoush, lutenitsa, and more, sets the tone for a meal built around communal eating.
From the grill, offerings range from chicken shishlik and Romanian beef kebab to swordfish shishlik and shawarma-spiced cauliflower. For two, whole branzino, ribeye, and lamb rack are available. A la carte starters like grilled halloumi with blackberry and jalapeño, date-harissa wings, and foie gras al ha’esh show the kitchen’s playful confidence. Dessert stays simple: brown sugar-vanilla soft serve with strawberry apricot sauce, or a vegan tehina soft serve with chocolate magic shell.
The wine list is a standout, with a focus on intriguing bottles from Europe, the Middle East, and beyond. Options include a By Zahav-labeled Galia sparkling blend, a Pierre Gimonnet Special Club Champagne, and reds from Turkey, Lebanon, and South Africa, plus local Philadelphia selections. Many are available by the glass or bottle.
Laser Wolf has earned a Michelin Recommended distinction, a reflection of its consistent quality and lively, ingredient-driven cooking. It’s a place for gathering around the table, sharing food, and enjoying a thoughtfully curated drink.
