The story
The name Majka pays homage to roots: mothers, grandmothers, and great-grandmothers who planted the core of nourishment and the drive to feed those around them. That spirit shows in the daily-changing menu, which draws from what’s best at the market. Spring onions and green garlic from Riverdog Farm find their way onto pizzas, while a recent Potato with Avocado Crema pizza celebrated Ventura avocados. Asian pears bring ridiculous flavor to the little gem lettuce salad with pecorino sardo and Marcona almonds.
Pasta and small plates start at 4pm every night. The weekly lineup shifts between Tuesday–Thursday and Friday–Saturday, with dishes like Tagliatelle with Short Rib Ragu, Tortelloni Burro e Oro, and a Friday-only Bucatini with Fort Bragg Uni. Small plates range from Scallop Crudo to Gambas al Ajillo, plus a 1/2 Roasted Chicken with Mustardy Potato Salad on weekends. Dessert might be Mango Sticky Rice or Chocolate Basque Cheesecake with Candied Kumquats.
The pizza changes daily, too—each with a wine pairing. Think cremini and shiitake mushrooms with miso shoyu glaze, or a spring onion and green garlic pie with Jersey milk ricotta. The Italian influence is clear, yet the cooking feels entirely of this place.
Michelin recognized Majka with a Recommended rating in 2026, noting the thoughtful sourcing and the welcoming, unfussy atmosphere. Indoor and patio seating are available, and takeaway is a strong option for those who want to enjoy the pizza at home.
This is pizza and pasta built on whole grains, wild yeast, and a deep respect for the people and produce that make a meal worth sharing.
