Steelbach is a Southern-inspired kitchen and chophouse in Tampa’s Armature Works. It earned a Michelin Recommended distinction in 2026, a recognition that matches its focus on precision and regional flavor. The Beef

The steakhouse ethos here starts with the beef. Steelbach partners with Florida’s top producers to raise and deliver grass-fed beef. Each cut is aged four to seven weeks, trimmed and cut to order, then cooked over a 1,000-degree oak and mesquite open-fire grill. The result is steak with excellent marbling and a clean, smoky finish. Whether you order a Quincy Cattle ribeye or a Providence Cattle skirt steak, the char and crust speak to a kitchen that respects both ingredient and fire.

Beyond the Steaks

While the chophouse is the draw, Steelbach serves brunch, lunch, and dinner seven days a week. Weekend brunch is particularly well-regarded, offering dishes like pork belly Benedict on a cathead biscuit or a golden brioche French toast with caramelized bananas. The bar program includes whiskey lists, craft cocktails, and regular wine dinners led by Master Sommeliers. Everything—from the hand-cranked sausage board to the avocado and fennel salad—draws on Southern-inspired ingredients prepared with a modern hand.

The Setting

Steelbach occupies the southeast corner of Armature Works, the historic trolley barn turned food hall and event space along the Hillsborough River. The dining room is comfortable and polished, with outdoor seating available. The restaurant’s own words sum it up: “Our food is meant to be shared.” And with a Michelin Recommended tag, it’s clear that the cooking is worth sharing.
