The story
Bistro Na’s brings the refined traditions of royal Manchu cuisine to the San Gabriel Valley. Conceived by owner Mr. XianYi Kong and led by Chef Tian, the restaurant uses rare, hand-picked ingredients to create dishes that evoke the opulence of China’s last imperial dynasty. As the team puts it, each plate guarantees “an authentic taste of the royal Manchu cuisine.”
The setting reinforces this journey through time. The dining room is enclosed within a formal Chinese courtyard, with bamboo trim and soft, high-hanging lights. The atmosphere is tranquil and ritualistic—a deliberate departure from the bustle of modern Los Angeles. For larger gatherings, Bistro Na’s offers five private patron rooms and event space for up to 158 guests.
The menu, updated seasonally, pairs classic Chinese techniques with contemporary flourishes. Standouts from the 2025 winter menu include the Chef’s Signature Four Delicacies Platter, Golden Clay Pot Chicken, and Pan-Fried Cod Fillet with Zucchini. More ambitious dishes such as the Imperial Stewed Red Dates & Kurobuta Pork Belly and the Claypot Braised Sea Bass with Black Truffle show the kitchen’s range. Lighter options like Old Beijing Minced Eggplant Noodles keep the focus on comfort.
Bistro Na’s earned a Michelin star in 2019 and 2021, and continues to hold a Michelin Recommended distinction for 2026—a testament to its consistency. Wine pairings from European, Japanese, and American labels are available to complement the meal.
For those who prefer to dine at home, the restaurant offers a full menu for takeout, allowing guests to enjoy this elevated Chinese cuisine in their own setting.
