The story
Since 1979, Fogo de Chão has kept the flames of churrasco burning—a culinary art rooted in the mountainous landscapes of Rio Grande do Sul. The founding brothers grew up on a traditional farm in the Serra Gaucha, learning to cook in the churrasco grilling tradition that became the backbone of their story. After formal churrasqueiro training in Rio and São Paulo, they opened their first restaurant in Porto Alegre, building a reputation that drew politicians, businessmen, and celebrities from across Brazil.
Today, at The Woodlands location on Hughes Landing Boulevard, that same fire burns. The experience is built around the full Churrasco Experience: gaucho chefs carve an endless procession of fire-roasted meats tableside, from signature Picanha (prime part of the top sirloin) to Fraldinha (bottom sirloin) and Costela. The freshly curated Market Table offers vibrant salads, seasonal vegetables, and authentic Brazilian sides. Bar Fogo rounds out the experience with Brazilian-inspired small plates and award-winning wines—a fitting complement to a restaurant that has earned Wine Spectator’s Award of Excellence.
The atmosphere is warm and energetic, designed for gatherings of any size. With private dining rooms, outdoor seating, and catering options, it’s a place where the tradition of Southern Brazilian hospitality meets the energy of The Woodlands. Whether you come for a special occasion or a weeknight dinner, the experience is rooted in the same dedication to quality that has driven Fogo de Chão for more than four decades.
