The story
In the historic wine corridor of Las Compuertas, Mendoza, 5 Suelos – Cocina de Finca sits within the Durigutti winery estate, surrounded by vines and natural landscape. Here, the restaurant’s name refers to the five soil types that define the region’s terroir, and the kitchen’s philosophy mirrors that connection to the land.
Executive Chef Patricia Courtois, named an ambassador of Marca País Argentina, leads a team that practices what they call “cocina viva” – a living cuisine rooted in seasonality. The primary source of ingredients is the estate’s own organic garden, just metres from the kitchen. Beyond that, Courtois works with local artisans and small producers, ensuring every plate reflects the immediate environment.
The menu changes with the seasons, offering a multi-course tasting experience, paired wine options, and special seasonal proposals. Diners choose from several menus: the “5 Suelos” menu, the “Albedrío” menu, and the “Historia” menu, each designed to showcase the freshest produce and the estate’s wines. The setting is equally immersive – outdoor seating, air conditioning, and private party options make it suitable for both intimate dinners and events.
The recognition from Michelin, which awarded 5 Suelos a Recommended status in 2026, acknowledges the precision and integrity of this farm-to-table approach. Winexplorers also named it Best Winery Restaurant in 2026. Yet the restaurant’s charm lies in its simplicity: a kitchen that lets the garden speak, in a place where the vine and the soil are never far from view.
