The story
At Bodega Lagarde in Luján de Cuyo, Mendoza, Zonda Cocina de Paisaje is a restaurant built on a simple conviction: good cooking begins in the earth, in the natural products it gives us, and in the hands of the farmers who care for it. The team invites guests to walk through the vineyards and gardens, to share in the Andean culture where the best recipes carry the reflection of the landscape.
The Zonda Experience starts with a warm welcome in the morning, followed by a walk through the estate’s vineyards and organic huerta. Guests participate in a mini cooking class featuring typical local recipes, then sit down to an exclusive multi-course menu with wine pairings from the bodega. For lunch and dinner, the chefs create tasting menus that highlight local culture through the flavors of the region.
This approach earned Zonda a Michelin star in both 2024 and 2025, alongside a Michelin Green Star for its commitment to sustainability. The guide recognized the use of ingredients from the organic garden and the way each plate reflects the Cuyo landscape. The cuisine here is a direct expression of place—cocina de paisaje, or landscape cooking—where the terroir of Mendoza is not just a backdrop but the main ingredient.
