The story

Genusstreffpunkt Höfer Graz: Austrian Cuisine Near Weinitzen Vineyards

The family kitchen

Genusstreffpunkt Höfer operates just outside Graz in Weinitzen, where Manuel Höfer-Schwarze directs an inventive approach to Austrian cuisine. The family-run kitchen grounds its menu in Steirian traditions, then layers technical precision over familiar ingredients. Guests experience this method most clearly during the five-course tasting journey, which unfolds entirely tableside upon reservation.

Signature preparations

The seasonal progression balances rich textures with bright acidity, a hallmark of refined Austrian cuisine. Goose liver macarons pair with a crisp sweet wine sorbet. Stream trout rests beside roasted cauliflower, while the final course presents venison slow-cooked with forest mushrooms, finished with a caramelized apple and airy meringue crust.

Terrace and terroir

Outdoor seating faces the cultivated fields behind the property, offering a calm backdrop for longer meals. The wine list relies heavily on the estate’s own vineyard plots, located directly across the entrance road. Summer evenings draw guests to these shaded tables, where the pace slows and the focus remains firmly on the food.
