The story
For more than 35 years, Ferme des 4 Saisons has been a family affair in the quiet countryside of Bourlers, near Chimay. The guiding philosophy is simple: “l’amour des belles et bonnes choses” – a love for beautiful, good things. That spirit runs through every dish, every detail of the setting, and the genuine welcome extended to guests.
In 2015, the parents passed the reins to the next generation. Caty now leads the dining room with warmth and professionalism, while Franck commands the kitchen. This transition brought a complete renewal of both the space and the menu – two elements the family has always considered inseparable.
Franck’s cooking is best described as cuisine gourmande: generous, carefully composed, and built on beautiful ingredients. The menu, available à la carte or as a set menu, features fish, beef, and even lobster, all worked with precision. The dishes draw inspiration from the classics of Belgian-French cuisine, but the execution feels fresh and personal. This is Modern French cooking that honours its roots while looking ahead.
The quality and value of the experience have not gone unnoticed. Ferme des 4 Saisons holds a Michelin Bib Gourmand, a recognition that rewards restaurants offering good quality cooking at a reasonable price. It’s a fitting nod to a kitchen that balances refinement with accessibility.
The dining room was completely reimagined during the 2015 handover. Today, the space blends comfort with character: authentic materials, warm colours, and a sense of spacious intimacy. Guests often remark on the pleasant atmosphere, the discreet yet professional service, and the overall harmony between the food and the surroundings.
Whether you come for lunch or dinner, the restaurant offers outdoor seating in fine weather, a private room for special occasions, and ample parking. It’s a place where you can settle in, take your time, and enjoy the simple pleasure of a meal well made.
