The story
On the rue Grande in the historic town of Dinant, La Broche brings a philosophy of farm-to-table cooking to its daily menus. The restaurant’s Michelin Bib Gourmand – awarded for good quality, good value cooking – reflects a commitment to fresh, seasonal ingredients prepared with skill and simplicity.
The menu changes with the market. At lunch, the Marché du midi offers an entrée, plat, coffee and mignardises for 32€, a snapshot of the kitchen’s current sourcing. Evening diners choose from the Menu Gourmand, where each course is built around produce and proteins at their peak.
Recent menus showcase roasted mussels with savory butter and parsley oil, alongside chips of vitelotte potatoes and a potato espuma. A starter of duck foie gras terrine, made in-house, is paired with rhubarb textures. Main courses might include fish of the moment with a mint crumble, spring peas, asparagus and white wine sauce; or confit pork belly with quinoa, a cheese-filled spring roll from the local Ferme du Gros Chêne, and sage infusion. For an extra 11€, a pure beef fillet comes with carrot preparations, pinot noir sauce and potato espuma. Desserts include a strawberry sablé with lemon cream and meringue, or a Baba with citrus juice, Eau de Villée and blood orange sorbet.
Special menus are also announced: a lobster menu and seasonal offerings like a Valentine’s menu.
La Broche operates with a calm rhythm – open for lunch and dinner on select days, with a respectful closing time. The team asks guests to note any allergies and to signal gift vouchers at booking. The entire table is served the same menu, with no substitutions allowed – a sign of a kitchen that trusts its composition.
Chef Eric’s cooking is confident and grounded, letting the ingredients speak. In Dinant, La Broche offers a Bib Gourmand experience that feels both refined and of the moment.
