The story
In the quiet village of Grandhan, a stone’s throw from Durbuy, Manon Schenck and David Delmas have created a restaurant that draws from three distinct French regions: Alsace, Ardenne, and Brittany. After three years in Durbuy’s old town, they moved La Table de Manon to a spacious house with a beautiful garden, giving the whole operation a contemporary yet warm and intimate feel.
The kitchen is led by Chef Manon Schenck, an Alsatian who began her hospitality training at 14 in Colmar. She passed through several notable houses, including the Michelin-starred Auberge du Frankenbourg, and was named Meilleur Apprentie de France (Alsace region). In 2021, the Michelin Guide recognised her as a “young chef,” and in 2023 she was crowned “Lady Chef of the Year.” Her partner, David Delmas, is a local who studied hotel management in La Roche-en-Ardenne and Liège before spending time in Alsace, where he developed a passion for wine alongside Romain Iltis, Meilleur Sommelier de France and MOF sommelier. In 2026, David won the title of “Premier Maître d’Hôtel de Belgique.”
The couple’s shared experience at the Michelin-starred La Butte à Plouider in northern Finistère, Brittany, gave them a new perspective on seafood – a cuisine both briny and fresh. This influence is clear in their cooking, which is resolutely focused on seafood products, with lobster taking pride of place. The menu changes with the seasons, and the aim is straightforward: flavourful cooking at a reasonable price.
The wine list is mainly French, naturally highlighting Alsace, with a few global references and nods to Belgian vineyards. Expect well-priced labels and some surprises.
In 2026, La Table de Manon received its first Michelin star, a testament to the high quality of the cooking. The restaurant also holds Euro-Toques membership. It is a fine dining destination in Durbuy that balances elegance with a genuine, welcoming atmosphere.
