The story
In the Stendrich district of Eupen, Antoine occupies the former family home of Lisa Klinkenberg. Since 2017, she and chef Mirko have been running this restaurant with a clear philosophy: "eigensinnige Küche aus Wald, Wiese, Wasser, Jahreszeit und Handwerk" – a stubborn, willful cuisine drawn from forest, meadow, water, season, and craft.
The menu is modern French cuisine, driven by terroir and the rhythm of the seasons. Guests choose between three intimate dining rooms. The "Wohnzimmer" (living room) offers relaxed, unpretentious fine dining. The Chefs Table, set in a winter garden with just ten seats, provides a view into the kitchen. The "Klavierzimmer" (piano room), where it all began in 2017, now serves as a bar with a round table for four to seven.
Antoine’s approach has earned it a Michelin Recommended award, a recognition of its consistent, high-quality cooking and warm hospitality. The atmosphere is described as "gediegen" (dignified) yet without fuss – a place for people who want to arrive, not just eat.
For those looking to extend the evening, the restaurant recommends nearby stays, from the Sleep Wood hotel to local guesthouses, making it a destination for a full evening of genuine, seasonal gastronomy.
