The story
In the heart of Eupen, Arti'Choc brings a focused, seasonal approach to dining. The restaurant has earned a Michelin Bib Gourmand for its commitment to good quality, good value cooking—a recognition that speaks to the care taken in every dish without unnecessary extravagance.
The menu changes regularly, built around a single "Menu du Moment" at 45 €. This format allows the kitchen to source with the seasons and offer a tight, well-considered selection of starters, mains, and desserts. On a recent menu, starters ranged from a classic Beef Carpaccio with Foie Gras shavings, dried tomatoes, and truffle oil, to a vegetarian Arancini with mushrooms and vegetables on cauliflower cream. A homemade fish soup with rouille and garlic toast sits alongside a Salmon Tartare with trout caviar, and a Ballotine of quail with foie gras on an aromatic salad.
Main courses reflect the same range. Skrei fillets come with a mustard beurre blanc and crispy bacon julienne; a filet of Ondenval trout is prepared with lemon butter and capers. For heartier tastes, there is Veal Liver with apples, onions, and a Porto reduction, or a Corn-fed Chicken Supreme with morel cream and roasted mushrooms. A Herb-crusted Lamb Gigot and a gratinéed Goat Cheese with honey, olive tapenade, and artichoke complete the savoury options.
Desserts stay classic: Crème Brûlée, an Affogato with vanilla ice cream and espresso, or a molten chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream.
The atmosphere is welcoming and unpretentious, with outdoor seating available in warmer months. Arti'Choc also offers takeaway and has a private room for gatherings. Whether you come for lunch or dinner, the focus is on clear flavours and honest cooking—the kind of meal that explains why Michelin took notice.
