The story
Ronny Bosmans, Christel Peeters, Jonas and Laura welcome guests to their restaurant and hotel in the small village of Lacuisine, part of Florenville in Belgium’s Gaume region. The property sits on a quiet hectare of land, a short walk from the Semois river, with a shaded garden, ample parking, and an outdoor pool reserved for hotel guests. The atmosphere is relaxed and personal – a place where the team’s warmth is as present as the food.
The kitchen focuses on classic cuisine, refined but unfussy. The menu is built around seven dishes – two vegetarian, two fish, two meat, and one surf-and-turf – each available as a starter or main course. Guests compose their own meal from a selection of formulas, from a simple two-course lunch to a four-course dinner. Desserts and a cheese course round out the options. The dishes change with the seasons, and the team emphasises advance notice for any dietary needs, ensuring each plate is prepared with care.
Since November 2016, Au Cœur de Lacuisine has held a Michelin Bib Gourmand, awarded for good quality, good value cooking. The award reflects the restaurant’s commitment to generous, well-executed food in a setting that feels both special and accessible – exactly the kind of place where a leisurely dinner on the terrace or a Sunday lunch becomes a lasting memory.
