The story
Since opening its doors on 29 March 2024, Amici has brought a fresh Italian presence to the village of Sint-Martens-Latem, just outside Gent. The restaurant quickly earned a Michelin Recommended distinction, a nod to the focused, ingredient-driven cooking that defines the kitchen’s approach.
The setting is intimate and welcoming. Counter dining is available, placing guests close to the action of the open kitchen, while outdoor seating offers a quieter alternative during warmer months. The space balances casual warmth with the precision you expect from a Michelin-recognised address.
Italian cuisine is the thread that runs through every course, with a menu that shifts with the seasons. While the kitchen does not lean on overwrought descriptions, the cooking speaks for itself—clean, direct, and rooted in the best produce available. The lunch service runs from noon to 2 PM on Monday, Thursday, and Friday, with dinner beginning at 6:30 PM Tuesday through Friday. Monday also offers dinner from 6:30 PM.
A notable addition to the week is the Friday aperitivo italiano from 4 PM to 6:30 PM, a relaxed window for drinks and small bites before the evening service begins. It captures the easy, social spirit that runs through the restaurant.
Amici is located at Dorp 12 in Sint-Martens-Latem, a short drive from central Gent. The restaurant’s growing reputation—underscored by its early Michelin recognition—marks it as a place to watch in the region’s Italian dining scene.
