The story
The menu changes regularly. A recent lunch offered a starter of roasted Jerusalem artichoke with walnut, roquefort, and pistou, followed by tarragon chicken with green peppercorn, baby potatoes, and a herb salad. A vegetarian option is always available for lunch, and guests can also order à la carte. The evening menu expands with snacks like oysters with buttermilk and dill, or bresaola with pecorino and black pepper. Starters might include a coarse purée of smoked halibut with herring roe, sour cream, and green herbs, or a vichyssoise with beech mushroom, burnt leek, and buckwheat. Mains range from sole meunière with hand-cut fries to celeriac in Café de Paris butter, and quail with chicken jus, young carrot, mushroom, and savoy cabbage. Desserts are classic: a lemon crémeux with Italian meringue, a chocolate moelleux with vanilla ice cream from De Gentse Zuivelhoeve, and a crème brûlée.
The restaurant earned a Bib Gourmand in the 2026 Michelin Guide, a recognition for good quality, good value cooking. It reflects the straightforward ambition here: solid technique, clear flavours, and a welcoming setting. Counter dining is available, and there is outdoor seating for warmer months. The team keeps things concise and seasonal, letting the ingredients speak for themselves. This is a bistro that knows what it is — and does it well.
