The story
Since 2002, Le Mont-à-Gourmet has been a fixture in Gouy-lez-Piéton. In late 2015, Arnaud Hamoline decided to take over the restaurant from his father, Alain, to continue serving the community with great quality cuisine. After extensive renovations, the new chapter began in February 2016, when Arnaud entrusted the kitchen to his friend, the young and talented chef Nicolas Tournay.
Nicolas Tournay honed his skills in Michelin-starred houses—L’Essentiel à Temploux, Le Prieuré Saint Géry, and Gré du vent—before taking the reins here. His talent was quickly recognized: the Club Prosper Montagné named him the 1st Chef of Belgium in 2020.
The kitchen at Le Mont-à-Gourmet focuses on modern cuisine that is both refined and welcoming. Press mentions from Gault & Millau and Belgian lifestyle publications note a "breath of freshness" and a gastronomic discovery, reflecting the team’s commitment to quality. The restaurant offers a choice of menus, allowing guests to experience the chef's vision without pretension.
The atmosphere is that of a true maison gourmande—a warm, gourmet home. With outdoor seating available and a setting in the communal square, it invites relaxed, memorable evenings. Chef Tournay and his team continue to earn recognition, including the 2026 Michelin Recommended award, confirming their place among Belgium's noteworthy dining destinations.
