The story
Isabelle Bervoets and Arnold Godin founded Quel Bon Vin T'Amène, a neighborhood bistro in Grez-Doiceau, after their earlier restaurant faced an abrupt shutdown. Bervoets applies her background as a wine specialist while Godin channels his experience from Hôtel Majestic in Fes. They rebuilt the concept around a straightforward culinary approach that prioritizes seasonal cooking over rigid tradition. The project quickly earned recognition from Le Fooding, which noted their seamless transition into a more relaxed dining format.
The kitchen prepares petit plats using regional produce that shifts according to daily market arrivals. Guests typically share dishes like veal sweetbread pâté en croûte paired with a sharp celery rémoulade or tender ravioli finished with pecorino and fresh artichokes. Hearty braised beef stews simmer with rosemary and orange segments alongside creamy root vegetable mash. Every plate reflects a deliberate focus on unpretentious preparation and honest ingredient quality.
The dining room embraces a quiet chalet aesthetic that keeps the focus squarely on the glass and the plate. Sommeliers curate an extensive roster of biodynamic and organic selections drawn from independent producers across Europe. Labels from regions like Jura and the Loire appear alongside carefully chosen Portuguese reds and Spanish whites. Patrons can pair these bottles with house-made terrines, aged cheeses, or crisp salads without any heavy service overhead.
