The story
Since 2010, Innesto has been driven by a shared passion for gastronomy, refined flavours, and exceptional wines. In 2022, the restaurant found a new home in a stately villa in the heart of Zonhoven, a setting that balances elegance with warmth. Here, chef Koen Verjans and host Sofie de La Riviere bring their complementary crafts to life. Verjans works with seasonal produce and a deep respect for pure taste, while de La Riviere welcomes guests with a warm smile and a refined knowledge of wine. Together, with a young and dedicated team, they create an experience built on harmony: between kitchen and dining room, between craftsmanship and hospitality.
Dining at Innesto is about balance. The menu changes with the seasons, offering a choice of five or six courses that highlight local and carefully sourced ingredients. A recent menu opened with Hamachi from Zeeland, paired with bio tomatoes, parsley, cardamom, and dashi. North Sea fish followed with peas, broad beans, potato, and lemon verbena. Smoked eel appeared with white asparagus, sea aster, and goat cheese. Lobster was served with fresh pasta, courgette, chickpea, and ’nduja, while Galician beef came with green asparagus, artichoke, onion, and black garlic. Dessert brought strawberries with white chocolate, pistachio, and basil. A cheese course, selected by fromager Peter Verbruggen, is also available. The wine list is split into two thoughtful selections: "The Essentials" and "The Exclusives," with pairings available by the glass or as a full arrangement.
In 2026, Innesto was awarded a Michelin star, a recognition of its high-quality cooking and the precision of its kitchen. The star reflects what the restaurant has built over more than a decade: a place where gastronomy and a sense of homecoming go hand in hand. For lunch, a shorter four-course menu is served from Tuesday to Friday, while Saturday evenings are reserved for the full six-course experience. Private dining is available for larger parties.
