The story
Just outside Incourt, in the small village of Glimes, Chez Louis is a restaurant where hospitality and refined cooking go hand in hand. Christophe and Laurence Vanhoutvinck greet guests in a modern, convivial space – or, when the weather cooperates, on a shaded terrace set in the garden that seats around 75. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, a place for unhurried meals built around the best of the season.
Chez Louis’s kitchen is rooted in classic cuisine, but the approach is never rigid. Christophe Vanhoutvinck works with first-quality regional products, respecting each ingredient while coaxing out balanced, expressive flavours. The monthly Gourmand Menu changes regularly, and the lunch formulas – three courses at gentle prices – evolve with the market. Recent dishes have included a house gazpacho, a savoury cocotte of vongole, and a crisp fish & chips. On the à la carte, you might find a generous Black Angus burger, a farmer’s salad rich in local character, or a fresh sea salad. The cooking is precise, the plates colourful and light, yet always satisfying.
From December through mid-February, Chez Louis also opens its “écailler” – a shellfish counter – serving oysters and seafood. And for those who want to take the experience home, the attached traiteur “Louis Chez Vous” offers the same quality dishes to go, ready to reheat.
Michelin recognised this consistency and warmth with a Recommended distinction in 2026, a nod to the restaurant’s unwavering commitment to seasonal, terroir-driven cooking in a setting that feels both elegant and effortless.
