The story
At the edge of the Zeeland coast, where the Netherlands meets Belgium, Dell'arte brings a refined Modern French sensibility to Cadzand. The dining room is calm and unfussy, letting the food speak -- and the food is precise, ingredient-driven, and quietly ambitious.
The kitchen works closely with the North Sea. A signature dish of langoustine arrives with dashi and miso, its umami deepening the sweetness of the shellfish. Zeebaars (sea bass) is paired with peas and smoked eel -- a classic combination given new clarity. Maïskip "vol au vent" combines sweetbreads and potato in a light, golden puff pastry, while shrimp is brightened by tomato and basil. Desserts stay clean and bright: strawberry with kalamansi and vanilla, or a straightforward Dame blanche of chocolate and vanilla.
Menus range from three courses at lunch (€49.50) to four or five courses at dinner (€75–€96.50). On weekend evenings, only the tasting menu is offered -- a sign of the kitchen's confidence. À la carte is available other nights, with each course available individually.
The commitment to seasonality and technique here earned Dell'arte a Michelin Recommended nod for 2026, a recognition that aligns with the restaurant's steady, unhurried approach. It is a place for eating that feels both considered and generous, without unnecessary ceremony.
Private chef services, meal kits, and takeaway are also available, but the real experience is at the table -- whether for a long lunch or an evening built around the sea's best catch.
